Thermes Parc in Val d’Illiez

In Val d’Illiez emerged a natural sulphurous source which gave birth to balneology, more than 40 years ago in this region of the Dents-du-Midi. Renovated before being expanded, this thermal center is a haven for wellness; a modern spa boasting the latest in up-to-date equipment. This centre fits the image of Champery and the vallée d’Illiez. Indeed, it was built in the respect of the traditions, with the cosy ambiance and rustic elegance of an alpine chalet.

All year round, the warm thermal waters, rich in sulfur, calcium and magnesium, flow into the pools from deep underground. Countless bathers and doctors can testify to the beneficial effects of this water, which is particularly good for your skinand for treating cardiovascular problems and arthritis.

Pony Rides

Champéry’s equestrian center, located not far from the cable-car, has been in operation for 25 years!

The equestrian center in Summer is home to 6 docile Frieburger horses, perfect for beginner or more advanced riders to take out for an individual or group horseback rides.

For children, there are also five ponies, available for beginner pony-rides around the village or in the nearby forests.
Several rides of various lengths are offered; we can also suggest a variety of multi-day outings in the mountains with BBQ and overnight in a farm or a gite. Réservations: +41 79 429 60 20

A day at the farm

Get out and exercise in our mountain pastures! Take some time to discover life at the farm. Taking care of 42 cows is hard work! Put on a pair of overalls and boots and you can come milk the cows and feed newborns on one of Champéry’s working farms. With a little luck, you might even be able to attend a birth!

After your hard work, sit down with your new friends and enjoy the fruits of your labor at a hearty meal prepared with the freshest of local products.

This activity is available year round upon request or regularly on Wednesdays and Fridays during the Winter and the Summer seasons as part of the weekly activities in Champery.

Trout fishing ponds

Right out of the water and onto the grill!

The Chalet Rosalie, near the river called La Vièze at the bottom of our valley, has several trout fishing ponds where you can fish for trout almost all year round. For CHF 23 per kg., you can eat as much as you can catch! Take them home or ask your hosts to cook them up right there and then, to be enjoyed at one of the sunny tables on the terrace.

Equipment can be rented on site. Reservations required. Ask us or call: +41 79 577 87 54.

River fishing or private fishing

Vous pouvez pêcher tout au long de l’année, selon les dates d’ouverture de la saison de pêche.
You can fish throughout the year, in the fishing seasons. Unless you have a private fishing licence, check with the Tourism Office to purchase a daily fishing permit.

Tour the Village

The Bell Foundry

Champéry is home to one of the last small foundries where bells are still made in the traditional way, where a secret mix of metal is poured into molds set in sand. Jean-Denis Perrin, with his son Hugues, is one of the remaining traditional bell makers in Switzerland. In his tiny workshop, he has over twenty different molds for different bell shapes. Nine generations of founders have been shaping bells in those molds!
