Cross-country, snowshoes, sledging in Champery – Switzerland

Cross-country and snowshoes | Portes-du-Soleil

Skiing is in Champéry the most sought-after sport. But for the persons who do not ski, the village suggests other activities. Here is a small list.

Cross-country

Just past Champery, the Grand Paradis recreational area has a 7 km cross-country ski track for:

  • classic style
  • skating style

including a 100 meter denivelation.

A ski ticket is compulsory and can be purchased at the Tourist Office as well as at the Grand Paradis ski lift (open til 5 pm).

4km of slopes are lit every evening til 9.30 pm.

Snowshoes

A leaflet suggesting some routes around Champery, Val d’Illiez, Les Crosets and Champoussin is available at our reception, as well as at the Tourism Office. Visit the website

Guided snowshoeing tours can also be organized in collaboration with local guides from Champéry.

Accompanied by qualified instructors, small groups can get off the beaten path in search of the local flora and fauna.

Sledding

At Grand Paradis, near the chairlift, you’ll find a small, 200m long sledging slope.
Sleps can be rented in sports shops. Sledding is not permitted on the ski slopes.

Walks

Feel free to ask at the reception of the hotel some advice on finding some of the best hiking trails to explore and enjoy the resort and its surroundings.
